I was lucky enough to have the time to run away to Vancouver for a week and a half earlier in July. Tagging along with a few other girls to see the boys on tour and then soaking in an extra week with an old friend was just what I needed. It's been years, maybe even before the "teen" years, that I've been to Vancouver. My only recollections from the beautiful city of mountains were: 1. The smell of dying star fish outside our hotel room door due to our very thoughtful neighbours. 2. The fear that I had while walking along the Capilano Suspension Bridge and joyous tourists were running/shaking the bridge - when there are large signs saying DON'T SHAKE BRIDGE". 3. A ferry ride. It's safe to say I don't remember much and I was due for another trip to Vancouver during my adult life.
I lucked out and Vancouver had GORGEOUS weather for the entire span of the trip, aside from the morning that I was leaving, a record number of hours of sun for Vancouver in July actually. Visiting Vancouver rekindled my love for travelling and adventures; I want to/need to go back and explore the rest of Canada.
